I Got A Problem When I decided To Change My Blog's Template

Today is the first time for me to post again an article on my blog.I haven't post an article on my blog since 3 months ago,because of the time that i can't managed.yah.. i was little bit busy with my another activities, that's why i didn't have time to update my blog even browsing. it also related to my previous blog template that i have changed to new one. I didn't realize that my decision has changed anything on my blog. Everything that was created on blog was back to zero.

God...i have no idea for several days, just left the internet and computer.Got stress but i must got the new template and design its again even tough i'm not expert in that.it was as a lesson for me and i will think twice to change my template again.
For those who just join in blog don't try the do the same false like mine.
I don't suggest for those who is expert with web design but it just an experience of mine.
Be a nice blogger...

How To Install Openoffice 3.1.0 In Linux

OpenOffice.Org (ooo_3.1.0) is a packet of Free And Open Source Software. It is similiar with the microsoft office that windows have had. Many people are changing their main to use this software because it is free and easy to get.

Actually open office can install in windows, Mac Os and also linux. In this tutorial i would like to show how to install openoffice 3.0.1 on ubuntu 9.04.

At the first time You should removed your current openoffice installation if you want to get the openoffice 3.0.1 installation. I’m not guarantee that it will be work on your computer but it has worked perfectly on my computer.

let us start...

Download the package on OpenOffice 3.1.0 office suite select Linux DEB

After the download has finished, open terminal (applications > Accessories > Terminal)

Then go to the directory where you've saved OpenOffice 3.1.0 (I've saved it on my home directory, /home/elby84):

$ cd /home/elby84

Uncompress the archive...

elby84@elby84-desktop ~ $ tar xvfz OOo_3.1.0_LinuxIntel_install_en-US_deb.tar.gz

And go to the directory that contains all the .deb packages...

elby84@elby84-desktop ~ $ cd OOO310_m11_native_packed-4_en-US.9399/DEBS/

At the last install them with one single command:

elby84@elby84-desktop ~ $ OOO310_m11_native_packed-4_en-US.9399/DEBS $ sudo dpkg -i *.deb

Wait for a while...if it has finished close the window and restart your computer.... You will see your openoffice 3.1.0 has installed.....

The Easy Way To Auto-Mount NTFS Partition In Ubuntu 8.10

When you use dual booting of operation system such as windows and Linux (Ubuntu) your NTFS partition does not auto-mount by default. You have to mount NTFS partition through Nautilus or terminal before access it. Sure that It is not effective and you will get bored. Me my self always face that problem, I'm searching for the tips on Internet and finally found it.

In here I want to share to all of you the easy way to auto-mount NTFS partition. You just need PySDM as a software to make auto-mount NTFS partition. That software you can get in Repository of Ubuntu 8.10.

Installation:

Open Application ---> Accessories --->Terminal

$ Sudo su
password:
# apt-get install pysdm

After the installation go to System -->Administration -->Storage Device Manager or see on the picture below:

Next, enter your right password

You will see your partition list on the left panel of window

The partitions are labelled in the sda, sdb2, sdd, etc format based on your partitions that you have. To identify the file system click the partition list, it is on the left panel of window. In this example my NTFS partition is on the sdb. Click on that and you can find the type of your file system of that partitions on the right of window.

Then, if you have found the NTFS partitions click on Assistant

Check the box The File System Is Mounted at Boot Time
Uncheck the box Mount File System In Read Only Mode
The last is make sure that all of the NTFS partition have done, click on Apply and then restart your computer.

Ok...for all who love Ubuntu should try it....i'm not guaranty it will works on your computer but what's matter if you try something new......

Live Ubuntu 8.10 In UFD (USB Flash Disk)

I can not imagine if an operation system can saved in flash disk. It really happen nowdays, A UFD (USB Flash Disk) with 1 GB minimum of capacity can do itself.

This article i want to show you how to set up Ubuntu 8.10 interpid ibex live in Flash Disk. In here I'm using Iso file Ubuntu 8.10 interpid ibex.

Requirements:

Iso file Ubuntu 8.10 Or LiveCD Ubuntu 8.10

1 GB minimum Capacity of flash disk.

Step by step:

Connect UFD (USB Flash Disk) to computer

Select Menu : System>Administration>Create a USB startup disk.

Next, I will explain to you about the picture below:
1. That is a free space of flash disk for Ubuntu that you are using.
2. If you will use your flash disk to save another data, Select stored in reserved extra space or you can select the second choice to ignore.
3. Last, Click on Make startup disk to continue
It will take several minutes to complete the copying files. After that close the window and it is ready to use.

Yupp....your ubuntu 8.10 operation system has saved in flash disk. Now, you can restart your computer and press F2 or delete than go to menu Bios and setting USB as first booting.

When i got up in the morning i found my self get bored because i will Stay a whole day at boarding house. yep... but i have another way to make me happy today. The first thing i did is open my computer than looking for the php & mysql book to start to learn and practice.

It was 06.30Am, i didn't get hard to find php and mysql book because i have a lot of computer book that i always buy every month. I spent RP200.000 to buy some books every month and it help me a lot.

I spent 3 hours to finish one web design even thought it is not perfect yet...but i proud to my self because i never spent 3 hours to study anything umh........i think it is good manner that i should do in the future.

GPARTED : Gnome Partition Editor

One of the free application to create, destroying, and change partition is GParted (Gnome Partition Editor). GParted is an industrial-strength package for creating, destroying, resizing, moving, checking and copying partitions, and the filesystems on them. This is useful for creating space for new operating systems, reorganizing disk usage, copying data residing on hard disks and mirroring one partition with another (disk imaging).

Repository Local In Ubuntu 8.10

Default of Ubuntu software installation is not complete yet, such as multimedia, networking application and the others, so that many of Ubuntu lover are not satisfy when they used it. don't worry about that...

In this case you should create Repository local from ISO file in each of 6 DVD Repository. You can install From DVD but it is not efficient because you must put it in and out of 6 DVD frequently. Repository Local is a way to get complete software installation, so you can install anything that you like without DVD anymore.

Terminal

Open terminal and login as root
# sudo su

Create 6 direktori in folder /mnt
# mkdir -p /mnt/repository/DVD1 and so on until DVD 6

Mount repository ISO into the directory that you have created
# mount -o loop -t iso9660 ubuntu-8.10-repository-i386-1r2_contrib.iso /mnt/repository/DVD1

Next..
# gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

add some file below:

deb file://mnt/repository/DVD1 intrepid main restricted
deb file://mnt/repository/DVD2 intrepid main restricted multiverse
deb file://mnt/repository/DVD3 intrepid universe
deb file://mnt/repository/DVD4 intrepid universe
deb file://mnt/repository/DVD5 intrepid universe
deb file://mnt/repository/DVD6 intrepid universe

Finish, try install one application to check it out:
# apt-get install xmms

Synaptic Packet Manager

Open menu: System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager

Choose menu: Settings -> Repositories

Choose tab “Third-Party Software”

Next, click “Add”

Add this file below that we have discussed above
deb file://mnt/repository/DVD1 intrepid main restricted

After that, click on “add” again and do it until finish

Click “Close”

Then Click "reload" on top of left to index packet, then you can start to install the packet that you want.

Don't forget to U-mount ISO file after that.
umount /mnt/repository/DVD1 until DVD 6

How To Create An ISO Files In Linux

When you download all of distro linux you always found file with the extension iso. In here I would like to say that ISO file use to compress distro into smaller. So that iso file is ready to burn to CD/DVD.
File iso image is a file archive form optical disk and Format ISO (International Organization for Standardization) as extension.
Creating an ISO, a CD/DVD image, in ubuntu Linux is not hard at all. I have tried in Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex.
Let's start....

The first thing that needs to be done is Opening the terminal Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal.

Create iso file from file/directori.

$ mkisofs -r -o backuphome.iso /home/ebyx84/test

mkisofs : application name to create iso file.
-r : -rational-rock to activate Rock Ridge information.
-o : create name of file output

backuphome.iso : name of iso file that want to use.
/home/ebyx84/test/ : folder/direktori that want to create as iso file.

Create ISO file from a file

$ mkisofs -r -o filebackup.iso /home/ebyx84/test/tes.jpg

Another example:
If You want to Backup format MP3 collection into ISO file, look at example below:

$ mkisofs -r -o backuplagu.iso /home/ebyx84/compilation/*.mp3

Create ISO file form drive CD/DVD

$ dd if=/dev/cdrom of=backup.iso

/dev/cdrom : CD/DVD location

Sejak kemarin aku berusaha untuk merubah dan mengutak-atik halaman template blogku, akhirnya sebagian dari keseluruhannya telah berubah.
Even...i'm not realy sure that it will be done...
satu hal yang telah aku pelajari dari semuanya adalah :

!!sabar!!
wouhhhh...why i say that...coz...template yang telah aku nyari dengan susah payah ternyata hilang dengan begitu saja....dan satu hal yang memalukan yaitu aku tidak membaca perintahnya dan dengan seenaknya aja mengklik perintah "revert widget template to default"hikshikssss.....
ya secara...back to default template...
i can't do anything....and the only way to get back the new template is create new blog...upssss
